Eclipse Car Stereo No Good for MP3 Players : Eclipse CD3200 CD/USB Multi-Source Receiver with Bluetooth Wireless Technology
If you are buying this radio or any Eclipse and you hope to be able to play Mp3 players--Sony Walkman or Samsung etc., be warned: you can't. Even though it's advertised as USB Receiver, it only connects with flash drives. I have just spoken with Eclipse tech support to find out why no Mp3 player I've tried connects. I bought this radio to play books and not hassle w/CDs. I bought the Eclipse on the recommendation of the sound store: they said it was better than Alpine. I saw USB receiver and thought that that was what it meant. And no one at the store knew enough about the unit to understand that USB receiver DOESN'T mean that. This radio will only connect to Ipod, once you've bought the adapter and cable separately, or a simple flash drive. The flash drive I have now mixes the tracks on some downloads, which isn't very helpful when I'm listening to a book. I would never have bought this radio if I had known that when Eclipse advertises USB receiver they only mean flashdrives. I'm not supposed to have to ask what does Eclipse mean when they say USB receiver. I've looked at the literature: no where is it made clear. And NO store knows enough, either. I spoke with Al and Ed's before I talked to Eclipse and they told me to come by and they would check. They don't know that no MP3 player connects. NO ONE DOES except Eclipse Tech support.
And I can't send it back. I would give this unit zero stars, if I could. I feel really taken advantage of.
